I’ve experienced discomfort running ever since I started running seriously. Stupidly I put it down to “no pain no gain” and over trained until I injured myself in a race.
The immediate impact of the injury was clear – I had to walk to the finish embarrassed and in pain.
The longer term impact was much worse, and I spent lots of time on money trying to find answers and solutions.
Eventually having spent £00’s and hours on; scans, injections, physio, massage, acupuncture, ice, compression and other snake-oil scams I was fortunate to meet Aleksander.
The first thing that struck me about Aleksander was the interest he showed in me. He spent a lot of time getting a picture that helped us build a relationship and give him the insight to build a personalised plan.
The plan was tailored to me in pretty much every aspect, and was supported with an “app” that showed me how to do the workouts whilst also giving me the accountability to keep me motivated.
The contact with Alexsander was brilliant. We had regular calls, but he was also available for ad-hoc chats, or messages.
One word that I would use to describe and differentiate Aleksander would be FOUNDATION. Everything was about putting the foundations in place for success. This ranged from; building a relationship, understanding my needs (and quirks) and addressing the root-cause of my problems. At times I wanted to do more, but because of the trust we had established I kept the faith and progress was good, and the costs were considerably less than the other things I had tried.
Aleksander is really interesting to talk to, and aside from the recovery he has a deep knowledge of the science of sport. It was fascinating to share progress and talk through some objective measures. One of these was my vo2 max which had declined starkly whilst injured and unable to train. Having spent 3 x months with Aleksander it recovered and increased by 17%.
Genuinely I can’t speak highly enough of Aleksander, and would recommend getting in touch to discuss solutions and prevention for injury.
